The Skate Date!
The track is open for skating, cycling, handbiking and other fun sports.
Once it was trendy, but now it's a popular sport. There are an estimated 12 million inline skaters in Germany, which is not really surprising as it's both fun and healthy. You can skate round the circuit in the company of like-minded skaters, away from the bustle of the everyday traffic, every Tuesday evening from April to September from 6 p.m. in the Motodrom. In good weather, up to 4,000 skaters aged between 5 and 75 are out and about on the Hockenheimring. After completing a few quick laps, you can relax at the Après-Skate on the start/finishing straight with food, drinks and music. You can also hire skates, so there's no excuse! Since 1998, more than 100,000 skaters have been round the formula 1 race circuit.
