The "NitrOlympX" dragster race has been an all-out cult event for over 25 years. Everything is quicker, more dangerous, louder and a touch crazier. A highly explosive mixture of sport, speed and show lures fans to the Rico Anthes quarter mile, where you will experience 100 % high speed, action and the fascination of the drag at the highest level.
It's a mind-blowing spectacle when these fireballs get into position in front of the so-called "Christmas Tree" starting lights. Adrenalin shoots into the bloodstream, methanol into the motors, tires burn and ear-numbing motors can be heard far beyond the Motodrom: the fastest race cars in the world race over exactly 402,33 meters - the classic quarter mile - of the Hockenheimring.
This is motor sport at its purest - thrilling duels between the drivers to get the best reactions and drags from 0 to 100 in less than a second. The top fuel class always lives up to its name as the flagship of drag racing, with the cars reaching speeds of up to 500 km/h on the quarter mile of the Hockenheimring.
And don't forget the legendary Saturday Night Show. When night falls over the Motodrom and floodlights bathe the quarter mile in colored lights then it's show time, and spectators are treated to a colorful mix of breathtaking stunts, spectacular show-runs, burn-out contest and awesome entertainment with loads of action and high-speed, smoky tires, flames stretching meters into the air and spluttering sparks.
